What is "Masked Ninja Akakage"?
In the spring of 2024, TV Asahi and Toei joined forces to present the "New Period Drama" "I Bloom with You: Record of Shinsengumi Youth," a vivid portrayal of the youth of the young Shinsengumi during the final days of the Edo period, captivating many viewers. Now, in 2025, the two companies will team up again to take on the legendary ninja period drama "Masked Ninja: Akakage." Directed by master director Takashi Miike, this is a new-age hero story told on a grand scale, combining historical romance and monster battles, set in the Warring States period.
Starring Sato Taiki (EXILE/FANTASTICS), the unknown story of the ninja who supported Oda Nobunaga behind the scenes begins now.
The ending theme "Marmalade"
The song, which is likened to "marmalade," a blend of bitter and sweet flavors, depicts someone moving forward while mulling over bitter experiences such as failure and breakups.
Like slowly simmering jam, the days spent building it up eventually lead to solid bonds and a future. Tastes may change, but feelings don't - this song sings of the preciousness of believing in unwavering "feelings" even when values and circumstances change, and of continuing to move forward while embracing the sweet and bitter.

Synopsis
When Oda Nobunaga was about to unify the country, a mysterious religion called Kinmekyo began to spread south of Lake Biwa.
It was said that those who did not believe in it would suffer a terrible curse. Nobunaga secretly revealed the true nature of the Kinmekyo.
They decide to turn to the Masked Ninja to find out...
The story begins with a young man (Sato Taiki) living in the shadows as a ninja, who eventually rises up as the "Masked Ninja Akakage."
